Unable to start proofing, not installed message due to uninstalled.
Cause:
The proofing tool referred to in the message (e.g., Speller, Grammar) has not been installed.
Solution:
Run Word Setup, and install the missing proofing tool.
1) Exit Word:
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Exit'.
b) If prompted, save files before exiting.
2) Run setup, and install the missing proofing tool:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the Windows 'Start' menu.
Start menu
b) Select 'Run...'. (The Run dialog box appears.)
c) Type the path and SETUP.EXE in the 'Open' box.
d) Click 'OK'.
e) Click 'Continue'. (The Name and Organization Information dialog box appears.)
f) Type the user name in the 'Name' text box.
g) Click 'OK'. (The Confirm Name and Organization dialog box appears.)
h) Review the information in the Confirmation dialog box, and do one of the following:
1] If the information in the Confirmation dialog box is CORRECT, click 'OK'.
2] If the information in the Confirmation dialog box is NOT CORRECT:
a] Click 'Change'. (The Name and Organization Information dialog box appears.)
b] Re-type the username in the 'Name' text box.
c] Click 'OK'.
i) Type the 10-digit CD key in the 'CD Key' text box.
NOTE: The CD key is located on the back of the CD case on an orange sticker.
j) Click 'OK'. (The Product ID number appears in the Product ID text box.)
k) Write down the Product ID number on a separate piece of paper, and store the number in a safe place.
l) Click 'OK'. (In the Folder group, the location where the Office files will be stored is displayed.)
m) Look at the information regarding the destination folder, and do one of the following:
1] If the folder location IS CORRECT, click 'OK'.
2] If the folder location is NOT CORRECT:
a] Click 'Change Folder'. (The Change Folder dialog box appears.)
b] Click the correct folder location.
c] Click 'OK'.
n) Click 'Custom' for a custom installation.
o) Install the desired proofing tool:
1] Select the 'Word' check box.
NOTE: Since Word was already installed, it will be grayed out. Select it anyway. The check box should still be selected but 'Change Options' will be activated. This applies to the next several dialog boxes.
2] Click 'Change Options...'.
3] Select the 'Proofing Tools' check box.
4] Click 'Change Options...'.
5] Select the check box for the proofing tool that is to be installed.
EXAMPLE: If the Spelling proofing tool needs to be installed, select the Spelling check box.
6] Click 'OK'.
7] Click 'OK'.
p) Click 'Continue'.
q) Click 'Restart Windows'. (The computer reboots, and setup is complete.)
